Most should have had through their door information, showing the Purchese Street Park. If not you could collect a copy from the Community Centre on Ossulston Street.

You can also give your views online www.camden.gov.uk/centralsomerstown

You can get more information and also give your views on these occasions (there may be some more occasions too, found on line):

Tuesday 31 March 4-7pm at Somers Town Community Association

· Friday 10 April 10am – 3pm at Chalton Street market

· Friday 17 April 10am – 3pm at Chalton Street market

· Friday 24 April 10am – 3pm at Chalton Street market

Here is a letter in the CNJ paper this week regarding the CIP, and also HS2.

Many residents are not happy because half of the Purchese Street park seems to be taken up with buildings. Although it seems that the buildings are avoiding trees in a way (being 40 years old their canopies can not be replaced) it seems unlikely that trees surrounding would not get taken out but it seems (from the consultation today) that we can find out more about this, that is presumbing we can not do anything about this decision to build on the park. Residents do want to make their views known about this.

Consultation will start on Monday 23rd when the proposals will be revealed for the CIP. You may be about to find it on the website by googling Central Somers Town.

Unfortunately I have heard that it is being proposed that there will be a block at the entrance of the / on Purchese Street park, next to St Pancras station entrance. This is a very nice park, and is like a small wood, where the 40 years old trees deal with the terrible pollution produced next door by the taxis queued adjacent. Dogs need a runaround area, which is there too, although it needs to be enlarged I think if it is to work well and if we are to ask owners to keep their dogs on the leads the rest of the time, in other areas.

Residents against this (loads, and door-to-door consultation has surprisingly revealed this too) will likely demonstrate probably one Saturday to be decided, as well as planning to write to the local papers.

In about a week "information will be available including letters to thousands of homes, exhibitions, meetings and door-knocking" to get residents' views on the new proposals regarding building near the Open Spaces to fund eg rebuilding of the school there.

Apparently, instead of an initial proposal of building right opposite the Crick building on a basket ball pitch in the Purchese park there will be a proposal to build at the back of the park (on the other side to the Crick, North side)  Neutral

Information will be posted here.
