"Foodcycle" Sunday Lunch

If you cross the Euston Road into Bloomsbury and to the Brunswick Shopping Centre, Waitrose, if you take (at first) their temporary paper loyalty card, will allow you to take a free coffee/latte/tea every day from their new machine.  You don't have to buy anything.  Check they have not run out at first (of the forms to fill in that come with the card) and let the sales assistant know at the tills what drink you have taken.  
(+ if you buy the Guardian or the Mail and spend more than £5 they will refund you for the price of those newspapers.)


The hairdressers in the Brunswick is somewhere you can get a free haircut because they often have large groups of students from different countries that come for learn hairdressing technique holidays.  This is happening all of October, however because the hairdressers this month are not at all beginners (and often are extremely experienced and not young either and from eg Belgium) you will have to be prepared that they suggest something more drastic (like layers).  Beginners (to practice trimming) will be back again next year and so if you have time off during the day check with them now and then to find out.

+ The Bloomsbury festival (whatever that is) starts this Tuesday (15th Oct) until the weekend.

This Sunday as usual 1pm, the Community Centre.  Mostly UCL students role model (they do the waiting as well) as the volunteers (enquire with them if interested; must be done via their website) and come in and cook with often Planet Organic food that has been taken off the shelves to be thrown away (not meat for that reason) and make a very nice meal mostly of 3 courses. This is free and open to all residents. If in doubt, come and see! You can arrive later but there could be less left then.
